Many of you maybe. I am a die hard fan of Celebrity Apprentice...when I remember to watch it. But listen to this..This is a good read.

This episode was a big learning lesson about what you do and what you THINK you can do.

The challenge was for the two teams to make a commercial and a jingle for Chicken of the Sea Tuna. Team one aka KOTO consisted of Clint Black, Joan Rivers and Jesse James(hubby of Sandra Bullock). Team two aka ATHENA was Brandy(Playboy Model) and Annie (World known poker player- I didn't know her til I watched this-so.......)

Anyway, team ATHENA already felt like they lost. They both could not sing and were tone deaf- When I heard them sing I was like, "This can't be real". They were going against Clint Black, an award winning country singer. The Committee already said that Clint Black was one of their favorite singers. They knew from the jump they were going to lose. They just prepared themselves. You saw them go through the motions of trying to sing and it was hilarious.

Team Athena tackled the commercial first. They figured if they were going to lose, at least have a good commercial...right?

Well guys let me tell you, something happened between the commercial and the jingle. They decided no matter if Clint beat them, they were going to do their best. And they did. They grew self confidence and used their abilities to the best that THEY could do.

They ended up winning! They went up against one of the best musicians in the industry and won! They felt they were the underdog, did not have the upper hand and they won! They won!

If you can watch it online, please watch the episode. It is a moral uplifting. It makes you feel like you can do anything you set you heart too. No matter how insurmountable the task it. Team ATHENA just KNEW they were going to lose- they didn't.....and neither should you No matter what you do.

No matter how big or elaborate or how grand people, businesses or things may seem, you can overcome anything! You feel a business has the upper hand because you are lacking something in some way- you can BEAT it! You don't need to have the best to be the best! You don't need to have a whole lot to be the best!

You do the best with what you have! With what you have you become the best!

People in the lace wig industry, do the best with what you have, if you truly love what you do, your clients will see it also.

The Computer Blues

Have I had a time this past month! I'm in my stride, getting ready for all these great events I've planned and interviews and my computer crashes. That dag on Internet Explorer 8! Why do we need to download that crap again???

I take it to Best Buy where they tell me I need to get a hard drive.

Well I get home and try this and the computer makes this wierd noise! From then on it was nuts. Blank screen.

Oh well, such is life. I got a laptop and a jump drive. Has the most important things on it. The laptop is okay, but I miss my desktop. I had info from when the lace wig industry was just being introduced to the mainstream- things you can't even find now. Wow- I'm blown now.

While this was going on, however, it gave me time away from the computer to think about what I want to do in this lace wig industry and how I want to do it.

Everyone is getting on the bandwagon and putting their 2 cents in and trying to make a buck off this industry. They see potential and jump in.

Meanwhile, the people who truly want to service this industry are pushed to the side because of quality and pricing.

Some are feeling that they must reduce the prices of their lace wigs to keep afloat.

I say never sell out. Keep your quality and your pricing. Those who aren't sincere, eventually fall off.

The Lace Wig Revolution

The revolution is here! Lace Wigs are everywhere? My question is why do women want to buy them so cheap? why dont't they want to spend the money on a quality wig? Just like a bad weave, they will spend money on 3 cheap wigs when they could buy 2 good qualilty wigs and with proper care they last a long time. How many times does it take to correct a bad weave? You can have a quality lace wig. I just don't get it.

Another question how can the people that are selling them so cheap make a profit? I have access to over 150 vendors and the really good quality wigs, even though they want to make a deal their top quality is still coming in wholesale over $100.00 include shipping and handling, the cost of boxes, packaging, how much of a profit are they making?

If you want to build a brand name on selling cheap wigs, that is great and fine. If that is your long term goal for your business to identified as selling low-priced wigs, there is nothing wrong with that.

If you are looking to brand yourself on quality, customer service and building repeat clientelle, then do not lower your prices to make a sale. Market hard, sell strong and give the best to your customers. Have flexible terms and work with your customers. The money and the quality customers will come.

cheers!

The Lace Wig Reports Interview

Back in January, I received an email from a media venue down in Florida. They wanted to talk to me about my website and lace wigs. First thing I thought, way down in Florida? I hadn't even re-launched the website for an entire month and already I was receiving requests, questions and inquiries. Wow what a great welcome back! I"m loving it!

Still recovering from a bad infection, cold, flu whatever it was. I still sounded like Barry White.

I called and spoke with a Shaquilla Smith. She was very interested in interviewing me and talking with me about The Lace Wig Reports and my new upcoming venture that wasn't to launch until October of 2009! Boy how things change!

I was elated, I had not been back for a month and I was making fast progress..... YES!!!!

In a nutshell....If you think it, you can do it. Positivity fills your heart if you allow it and from there, ANYTHING is possible. I am a living breathing example of it all.

I'm excited about everything I have created thus far, The Lace Wig Company, Hair Illuzionz and the place where it all started, The Lace Wig Reports. A fascination with hair since I can remember and viola!

I am also in the works of creating something just for those who suffer from Alopecia, Cancer and medical conditions regarding hair. It is so funny how you are around these things all your life and when you act on them, it comes so naturally.

March Madness.....Okay lets do it

Lace Wig FAQ

February is here!

This year is off to a fast start! I have recieved many questions about lace wigs. Women are looking for a centralized site where they can find all the answers to theirquestions about lace wigs. They want it aside from other sites and from wherepeople are selling. They want to be able to ask a question, have it posted andanswered all in one place.I thought about putting that in the forum section. That is more like a free for all and the questions that many may have will get lost as other dicussions are posted. There is no real way of keeping them all together. There are so many lacewig 101's out there (including me!) that I wanted to getaway from that and have something with a different twist or name let's say! So I created www.lacewigfaq.com It is a site just forquestions about lace wigs. It has over fifty of the most common questions aboutlace wigs. More question will be added as they are requested or as I find them.It has a vast array of questions for the lace wig novice. Once you becomefamiliar with lace wigs, more questions are submitted. If you have questions that you want answered, send me an email. I will have thequestion posted and added. It is unbelievable how fast lace wigs is catching on! I'm on the interneteveryday and I always find a new lace wig site. I really wonder how many are outthere. The most motivating and inspirational thing to know however is that there isenough room out there for everyone to succeed in this business. I was talking to my dad who lives in Las Vegas the other night and he gave mesuch an encouraging thought:

Don't accept"no" or "not possible" as an answer to a given task

My task is to not to accept "no" in life, in business or when it's time to go to the gym!

The Miseducation of Lace Wigs I

The Lace Wig Reports is growing and getting exposure! I have a few new things to tell you, but not just yet. It involves expansion, radio and television. I'm so excited! But you haveto wait. It will be well worth it. I promise.
The purpose of my diary is to share my experiences as The Lace Wig Reports grow as well as my other ventures pertaining to lace wigs. The more people who read my ups and downs, the fewermistakes the next professional will make.
I am trying to grow membership, but the right kind of membership. I have been looking at more than 20 websites a day and picking and choosing whom I would like to become a member.I have to admit; at first I just did a group email to many people. No answer. Ithought,"Mmmm must be a reason". So I rescinded the invites. I went back tomy philosophy: I just don't want a meet and greet swap meet, I want a group ofserious professionals who believe in their product and when consumers come tothis site, they will know they are buying from a reputable seller, they haveaccurate information and they will be satisfied with their product. How is that?Quality not Quantity is my aim.
Do you know some websites are still saying that lace front wigs and full lace wigs are the same thing? They are also putting on their website misinformation about the type of hair used inthe wigs. It is obvious that those people are not selling them for the love ofhair or even to properly educate.
Miseducating our clients will only hurt the online purchasing power. They will be more reluctant to buy online and will prefer to deal with local professionals for lace wigs. How do we stopit? By having venues such as The Lace Wig Reports to educate.
ps. I’ll keep you posted on the new stuff!

The Eve of The Re-launch

The night before the launch. What am I thinking? I was summoned to my bed. That is how it goes.....life that is.The launch is still on and we are moving forward. That is how business goes ups and downs. Successes and Failures. But you keep on moving and you don't stop. Remember the group "Soul ll Soul"?The site will go live as planned and I will keep building behind the scenes. The Lace Wig Directory is in its final stages and will have ALMOST lace wig website on the internet. I say almost because there are so many lace wig websites its unbelievable! I have been doing this since 2007. When thinking about what type of things I wanted in The Lace Wig Reports, I got lost in the hype ofseeing what everyone else was doing & lost my vision along the way. Then I remembered the conversation i had with Marilyn Paul of HIgh Definition Hair. She was in the process of opening her second business in New York. She gave me the greatest advice that I had quickly forgotten. Women need to be educated on lace wigs, they need to know their options. Give them quality. That is what I want to give quality. Quality information regarding lace wigs. The websites that sellthem. The ratings they receive from you the consumer and information to thosewho want to start their own business. I dont want The Lace Wig Reports to be afree for all that gets undated with things that have nothing to do with lace wigs. I want quality business owners, stylists and consumers who need a place to go for information regarding lace wigs, abe to ask questions and have them answered.

The Return of The Lace Wig Reports

Wow!It has been one very challenging year!

I have had surgery, a couple of moves and serious illnesses, but like Maya Angelou: I rise!It doesn't matter how many times you fall down, as long as you get back up! Thank you to everyone who supported. I only acknowledge the hate because I did not realize how popular The Lace Wig Reports had become. So negative!I acknowledge and support everyone who wants to publish information regarding lace wigs. There are over 6 billion people on this earth. There is enough to go around. Some, however feel that is not so.....Their problem not mine..MOVING ON.....Within the last year I have seen so many websites regarding lace wigs come and go- YES I HAVE A LIST, but I still have not found an informational portal like The Lace Wig Reports.Everyone has been getting on the bandwagon to make money from lace wigs! But the one thing they have not been dong well with is customer service. I have emailed inquiring about things and the customer service has been less than stellar! And returning emails is like...Whoa! How can your business thrive if you don't "learn" how to cater to the customer? A future discussion.Their is so much drama on out their in cyberspace. How can you create a functional and professional environment if you continue to acknowledge the drama? What is more important ur business or the drama? Get rid of it and those who create it-Believe when you close those doors, many positive things open up.I started an overhaul of TheLaceWigReports.com early in the year to make it more user friendly and streamlined. Then the surgery, moving and severe family illness took me away. This is almost as good as having your own website! Repeat ALMOST as good.Until its done.......The Lace Wig Reports will hang out here......maybe stay...umm. til next time
